Branch-sponsored Events
The O'Neill-Malcom Branch of CCÉ is an active organization, with a large and enthusiastic membership (join up!). We sponsor several major recurring events each year, and hold regularly occuring ceilis and traditional music sessions.
MAD (Musical Arts & Dance) Week
We host an annual school for the traditional arts every July, with classes appropriate for all ages and skill levels in song, dance and instrumental instruction. If your bucket list includes playing a jig on the fiddle, flute, banjo, accordion, piano, harp, you have found your ticket to happiness! MAD Week is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the East Coast's premier clinic weeks for learning the traditional arts. Visit the MAD Week pages here.
CCÉ Feis
The O'Neill-Malcom Branch of CCÉ has, from its inception, sponsored the annual "Comhaltas Irish Dance Festival" - known to many step dancers as the "CCÉ Feis" - The feis, in one form or another, has been around for 30 years. Every year, the Feis is attended by hundreds of dancers and musicians (mostly dancers) from all over the US (mostly east coast, but we get some from far afield). A significant portion of the revenue used to support various branch activities is provided by the Feis. Visit the Feis page.
CCÉ Irish Folk Festival
Every September we host an Irish Folk Festival in Northern Virginia. In 2020 we will celebrate our 25th festival. The one-day festival features performances from eminent local musicians and dancers, workshops, sessions, vendors, gaelic football, plus an evening ceili. Visit the Irish Folk Festival page.
